7th Pay Commission 23.5% Hike in Basic Salary of Central Govt Employees

Central Government staff of India has been eagerly waiting to know whether the recommendations by 7th Pay Commission will be approved by Cabinet. On Wednesday, 29 June 2016 according to 7th Pay Commission latest  news reports approval was given by Cabinet.

NDA ruling Central Govt under Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given approval to give a 16% hike in Basic pay. With this recent increase in Central govt pay scales, there will be equal demand from other public, state govt sectors. 7th Pay Salary scales hike was approved by Central Govt with immediate effect from salaries of January 2016. Around 1 crore staff, pensioners in Central government will get benefit from the hike in pay scales, pensions. Cabinet approval of salary scales hike was announced on 29-6-2016. There will be a total of 23.55% hike in salary out of which 16% will be in basic pay scale.

Minimum salary scale of all Govt staff in India has increased after approval to recommendations. Central Government Employees will get about 3 times their old pay scale. With the hike in salaries , govt staff will be get good remuneration. More people will continue to search for employment opportunities in Government departments. Central Secretary level Committee had recommended Cabinet to increase minimum salary to Rs.23500, highest salary Rs. 3,25,000. But Cabinet gave only approval to the actual recommendations given by 7th Central Pay Commission (7th CPC). Minimum salary scale will be Rs. 18,000 per month for all Central govt staff, while old minimum pay scale was just Rs. 7,000.

Money required for giving Rs.73650 crore of pay revision will be taken from general budget. Rs. 28450 crore will be taken from Indian railways revenue.

7th Pay Commission Latest News is that salary revision as per 7th CPC will be implemented from 1 January 2016 (1-1-2016). Narendra Modi Government decided to approve most of the recommendations by Commission.

What is 7th pay commission minimum pay scale , highest salary

Rs.18000 per month is the minimum salary of Inidan central govt staff with effect from 1st January 2016.

Highest Salary Pay scale of Indian Central Government staff is Rs. 2,50,000 per month for cabinet secretary. Rs. 2,25,000 per month will be given for apex scale employees. The earlier pay scale of the above ones was just Rs.90000.

Employees who start their service as Class I staff will get Rs.56100 as salary in beginning.

Recommendations Approved by Cabinet for Central Govt Employees

Many recommendations were given by 7th CPC when new pay revision was to be implemented.

Yearly increment of Central govt staff will continue as 3 percentage (3%)

Defense, Armed forces Gratuity limit has been increased from 10 Lakhs to 20 Lakhs.

Dearness Allowance (DA) has been increase by 50%.

Gratuity hike is 25%.

Without Interest Advance amounts will continue to be given for Travel allowance, Holiday travel, Medical expenses. etc.

Existing Grade Pay, Pay Band system will be changed to Pay Metrix. In Defence Pay Matrix the positions like Brigadier, Lft. Colonel, Colonel posts .etc. will get equivalent salary scales for such posts in Armed forces.

If Defense service staff or army men loss their life during duty, their close relatives will get compensation. It was Rs.10 lakhs to 20 lakhs earlier which is now hiked to Rs.25 lakhs to 45 lakhs.

House building Advance amount increased from 7.5 lakhs to 25 lakhs.

Employees contribution to Group Insurance scheme will not be deducted from salary of Central Government employees. 7th CPC has recommended that at least Rs.1470 should be deducted as Premium from salary of staff. This recommendation was not approved by Cabinet.

7th CPC has recommended that51 allowances should be demolished / stopped and 37 allowances limited to certain conditions. This recommendation will be inspected once more and final decision in it will be taken within 4 months.
