47th Kerala state film awards 2017 winners winners were announced on 10-9-2017 at Kannur. So who are the winners who bagged prizes for their performances in Mollywood during year 2016. On Sunday 10th September 2017, 47th Kerala State film awards was given by chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan. 2016 Kerala state film awards was given and a grand event held at Municipal stadium Thalassery in Kannur.

Actor vinayakan won this award for his best performance in Malayalam cinema Kammattipadam. Actress Rajisha Vijayan won award for her performance in Malayalam film Anuraga karikkin vellam. Child artiste Chethan Jayalal award for his performance in Malayalam cinema Guppy. Among awards given in 47th Kerala state film most popular one was JC Daniel award which was awarded to renowned Malayalam film director Adoor Gopalakrishnan.

Malayalam actress Surabhi Lakshmi won award for her performance in Malayalam movie Minnaminungu. Recently Surabhi Lakshmi was criticized when she ate beef and showed this photo in Facebook. After attending award function she posted a photo in Facebook saying that she got award which became viral in social media.

Malayalam movie “Manhole” by director Vidhu Vincent won award for best film. There were dance performances of actress Shobana, Lakshmi Gopalaswami, Vineeth which entertained audience. This is for first time Kerala state film awards (KSFA 2017) is being held at Kannur district at Thalasserry. There were comedy performances of Ramesh Pisharody, Kottayam Nazeer.

Protest by Women Collective in cinema

Malayalam actress artists association named ‘Women collective in Cinema’ protested near Kerala state film awards venue in Thalessery. This was an “Avalkkoppam” (അവൾക്കൊപ്പം) campaign conducted by Kerala actresses to protest for getting justice delivered to actress attacked in Kochi.

Also actress Rima Kallingal showed a banner mentioning words ‘അവൾക്കൊപ്പം – Avalkkoppam’ during her dance in Kerala State film awards 2017 venue which was a shocking one for audience. Through this move Rima Kallingal informed everyone of response of Women in Cinema Collective (WCC).
